Parties on a Plate was created in the summer of 2022 by two sisters-in-law from Shropshire
Having grown up in the same village, and marrying brothers, we came to realise that we had one more shared connection:
A burning desire to create a business hiring our sustainable party ware!
Although this might seem a little crazy both have their own personal reasons why …

“I remember when my parents used to try to teach me about the benefits of recycling, reducing and reusing. I used to brush it off thinking it wasn’t my problem, when in reality it is and was.
Now, as a mum of two, both my boys are fascinated with nature, the world, and especially sea life. Not so long ago my eldest told me he wanted to be a diver and visit the Great Barrier Reef and I found myself heartbroken at the thought that he may never get to visit it, as it may not exist.
Whilst we have already made changes at home to reduce our impact, it was when we started going to multiple school and nursery parties that I thought more could be done to make them sustainable.
I’m excited to give people the opportunity to have a truly beautiful party and still help the environment whilst doing so. “

“I am generally really practical, looking at all of the ’what could go wrong in the world’, but I have a secret, I read properly girl books. I remember reading one a good few years ago now where a lady set up a vintage crockery hire company.
This was around the time my husband and I were arranging our wedding party and looking for tableware. The trouble is I just cannot do mismatch and I like clean lines so vintage isn’t my bag. We ended up using bamboo as I couldn’t find another option, but this was still thrown away.
The ability to realise a shared vision with Rachel, well, what could be better.”
